Nobody at Global Self Storage has a key to your unit. You fit your own lock, you come and go on a code that belongs to you, and the gate records that it was you. That is the honest shape of storage security, and it is worth more than a page of adjectives.

A code issued to you, not a shared one. 24 hour access is available upon approval, without telephoning anybody first.
Your own lock
You buy it, you fit it, you hold the only key. A disc lock like this one is what we suggest: there is almost nothing for a bolt cutter to get around.
Cameras, recorded
Cameras on the buildings and over the drives, recording. We will not pretend every square foot is covered, because we have not counted it and neither has anyone else claiming it.

A camera is a record, not insurance.
Your goods are not insured by us. Plenty of homeowner and renter policies cover belongings in storage, sometimes at a reduced limit, so check yours rather than assume it either way. If it does not, insurance is available to buy and the office will talk you through it.
Every storage company in the country is in the same position. Not all of them say so on the page with the cameras on it.
No small print worth hiding.
- Month to month. Notice, clear it, lock off, done.
- No deposit to reserve, and reserving holds it.
- Change size later if you get it wrong, subject to what is free.
- Someone in the office six days a week.

Questions about security and access
- Is my property safe here?
- The site is gated and you enter on your own code, the buildings are covered by cameras, and you hold the only key to your own unit because you fit your own lock. What that does not do is insure your belongings, which is the next question.
- Do I need insurance?
- Your goods are not insured by us. Many homeowner and renter policies cover belongings in storage, sometimes at a reduced limit, so check yours before you assume either way. If it does not cover them, insurance is available to buy and the office can talk you through it.
- What can I not store?
- Nothing perishable, nothing flammable or explosive, no fuel, chemicals or pressurised gas, nothing living, and nothing illegal. Cars and boats want their fuel and batteries dealt with before they go away for a season, which is covered in our guides.
