What an indoor bay actually gives you
A car left outside through a Connecticut winter takes the weather twice: the cold, and then the salt and grit thrown at it by every plough that passes. Indoors, on a hard floor, behind a gate, none of that happens.
The bays are not a tarpaulin in a field. They are inside a building with a concrete floor, lighting, and a door that is locked when you are not there.

Getting it in and out
Come during office hours and there is someone there. Twenty-four hour access is available on approval if you want to collect a car at six in the morning to beat the traffic to a show.
What it costs
The price on this page is read from our reservation system every hour, so it is the rate you would actually pay today rather than a starting-from figure written once and left. If a bay is listed, it is free. If it says fully rented, it is, and calling us is the way to find out what is coming back.
Everything else we store with an engine or a hull.
Questions about vehicle storage
- Do you store cars, boats and motorcycles?
- Yes, at 264 Freestone Ave in Portland, which runs as Portland Auto, Boat and RV Storage. Heated indoor bays for cars, indoor space for boats on trailers up to about forty-five feet, and smaller spaces for motorcycles and personal watercraft. There are also gated outdoor vehicle spaces in East Hampton and in Portland.
- Do you take RVs and campers?
- We do, in the deep indoor bays at Freestone Avenue. RV spaces are not listed with a price online, so call and we will tell you what is free and what it costs.
- Is a vehicle space the same as a storage unit?
- No, and the price is different. A vehicle space is sized and priced for what goes in it, and the vehicle pages on this site quote them separately from the storage units.
